One of the biggest misconceptions about breastfeeding is that it will help you shed all of your baby weight in a matter of weeks.
While it’s true that nursing a baby does burn extra calories, many mamas are surprised to learn that losing weight while breastfeeding isn’t always an easy feat.
As a registered dietitian, I don’t believe that mothers should worry about losing weight in the first weeks after giving birth. Nor do I encourage it.
However, I do realize that many women have questions surrounding this topic. I also understand the desire to ditch maternity clothes after having worn them for the last 9 months.
This is why I recently wrote a guest post for Raise Vegan magazine on this topic.
In it, I share 12 dietitian-approved ways to safely lose weight while breastfeeding. In the video below, I summarize the seven tips I consider the most important.
Implementing them will help you safely lose weight while breastfeeding without compromising you nutrition or losing your milk.
If you find these tips helpful, please pay it forward by sharing them with other mamas who may benefit from them.
As always, I encourage you to leave any questions you have in the comments below. It will be my pleasure to address them a.s.a.m.b.s (as soon as my baby sleeps)!
